Frances V. Thompson, 80, of Anthony, Fla., formerly of Clarke County, died Wednesday, March 23, 2005, in Munroe Regional Medical Center, Ocala, Fla.

Mrs. Thompson was born June 1, 1924, in Clarke County, the daughter of John William and Nellie Stickles Broy. She was former owner of Thompson’s Grocery in Berryville and Granny’s Kitchen in Charles Town, W.Va. She was married to Wilmer Thompson, who died Dec. 25, 1973.

Surviving are a daughter, Linda Thompson of Anthony; three sisters, Anna Mallory of Front Royal, and Louise Duke and Dorothy Grubbs of Berryville; a granddaughter; and four great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be at a later date in Green Hill Cemetery, Berryville.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 2680, North Canton, Ohio 44720; or to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 21475, St. Petersburg, Fla. 33742. Hiers-Baxley Funeral Home, Anthony, is handling arrangements.
