A funeral for Robert R Broy Sr., 57, of Boyce, was conducted Saturday at 2 PM at the Enders Funeral Home, Berryville, with the Rev. Robert Royal officiating. Burial was in Green Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Broy, who died May 16 at his residence, was born Jan 29, 1927, in Berryville, son of the late John William and Nellie Stickles Broy. He had retired after operating a store for 30 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Helen M Broy; daughter, Cynthia Broy Funkhouser of Winchester; two sons, Robert R (Toad) Broy, Jr. of Boyce and Bryan W (Skip) Broy, at home; five sisters, Velma Deavers, Louise Duke and Dorothy Grubbs, all of Berryville; Ann Mallory of Front Royal and Frances Thompson of Charles Town; two brothers, A.W. (Matt) Broy and James (Bud) Broy, both of Berryville; and six grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Gary Holl, Ronnie Jenkins, Walter Rutherford, Ben Settle, Elwood Tomblin and Russell Lloyd. Honorary pallbearers were: H. V. (Tex) Coalson and Leonard Hotzman.
