Comments: Age 11 - The 1850 Census [Virginia > Clarke > District 12 > 28] list's Harriet's father Henry (age 58) living with his wife Elizabeth (age 33). Henry is working as a cooper. There is no listing for property value. A Nancy Bolen (age 70, ) was living in the house along with the following children: Harriet (age 11), Joseph H. (age 8), Thomas W. (age 5), Michael (Age 3), and Nancy J. (10 mos.)

Age 41 - In the 1880 U.S. Cenus for Clarke County - Hariett's father Henry Stickles (age 89) and his wife Elizabeth (age 62) are living together with their son Thomas (age 37). Harriet Jones (age 39) is widowed and living with her children James Jones (age 6) and Rachel Jones (age 3). Thomas's wife Maggie (age 28) and two of his children Lola Lee (age 2) and Charles C (age 1 mo)

Note: The information provided on this Thomas Melvin Jones is that he was born in 1868 in Warren Co, VA.  This would mean that he would have been age 12 in 1880 when Harriett was living again as a widow with her own father. The two other children James age 6 and Rachel age 3.  So, if in fact Thomas was a son of Lafayette and Harriett why isn't this 12 year old living with his mother Harriett in 1880 - However, a death certificate was found for Thomas and it shows these parents so it is curious why he was not listed in the Census report.
