Comments: A Marriage certificate was discovered at the Faquier County courthouse for both George and his likely brother Henry Stickle, I.
It has been supposed by Donald Watts, that George and his brother may have been German immigrants who did not speak English at the time of their marriage. But 7 years later when George's brother Henry got married, Henry signed his daughter's marriage license. George also seems to have entered several documents with the courts later in his life.
Age 22 - 2 Nov 1789 - Marriage License from Faquier county court house - PDF version with Transcription (See Yellow Note for transcription). [Note that the consent is signed by Jenny's father Daniel Michel and this text is in German, also George signed the document with his mark indicating that he could not read or write english]
Age 25 - 1793 - First child George Stickel is born somewhere in Virginia.
Age 42 - Census of 1810 indicates a George Stickle in Loudoun County, the census indicates that he has two children under the age of 10 living in his home, and two boys between the ages of 10 and 15 years. There were also 3 boys between the ages of 16 and 25 living in the home. There was also one man over the age of 45 and two girls between the ages of 10 and 15. And one woman between the ages of 26 and 44. The older man and woman are most likely George and his wife. George did not own any slaves.
Age 51 to 55 - George did some work for the Loudoun County Road department from 1819 [46 yrs] to 1845 [55 yrs] the following was found in the Loudoun Co. Archives.
The following entried in the Minute Book 3, 1819-1820, page 259: and Minute Book 8, 1842-1843, page 121, at a court, etc, on 18 th day of June 1842, George Stickle receives $6.00 for work on the roads in proximity to his residence. In the same Minute Book 8, 1842-1843, page 427, 15 th day of June 1843, John Stickle receives $6.00 for work on roads in proximity to his residence. George is no longer found in the Minute Books afterward. [Courtesy of Don Watts]
Age 52 - Census of 1820 - George Stickle Jr in Leesburg, Loundoun Co, VA. - with 2 white males between 16-26 and 3 females under 10 and 2 white females between 26-46. [This family seems to show only George, II since a 52 year old male is not listed in the household]

[-----Continued from Previous column------]
Age 62 - The Census of 1830 lists a George Stickel [62 yrs] living in Loudoun Co. Living in George's home are 1 male between the ages of 15-19, One man between the ages of 30-39, one man between the ages of 60-70 [George], 1 man between the ages of 70-79, 2 girls between the ages of 5-9, one girl between the ages of 15-19, one woman between the age of 20-29 and one woman between the age of 60-69. There were no slaves, handicapped or foreigners living in the house.
[Note: There seem to be too many members of the household that don't match. Possibly this is George with one of his children living with him along with their family. George's wife Jenny had died long before 1830 so she couldn't be the older female identified. -- Edie Rider]
Age 72 - The 1840 Census (Loudoun Co, 2nd district, pg 151.) shows a "George Stickle" living with one male between 20-30, one male between 40-50, One male between 70-80 [George] and one female between 15-20, one female between 20-30; one female between 30-40 and one female between 70-80.
[Again there are just too many members of that household that don't match either George I or George II. -- Edie Rider]
Age 82 - 1850 Federal Census - Virginia > Loudoun Co. - George is living with his son Joseph
Age 58-59 - The attached PDF document (with Yellow note) is dated June 1823. This hand written document is related to payments to George for road work. The note is transcribed in a yellow overlay note. The scond PDF document (with Yellow note) is a voucher for the road work. [Courtesy of Don Watts]
According to Nicolas E Stickel (via his descendants), George I (name not specified) lived to the age of 104, this would put his death date at 1869. We have no other evidence to substantiate this claim.
