Hunter Randolph Longerbeam, Sr., 71, of 209 East Main St. died at his home Sunday morning. He was a lifelong resident of Clarke county. Mr. Longerbeam was born August 11, 1904 in Clarke County, a son of the late James Luther and Margaret Moreland Longerbeam. Prior to his retirement he was employed as an orchardist for H. F. Byrd, Inc. for 39 years. He was a member of the John H Enders Fire Company.

Mr. Longerbeam was married to Mrs. Audrey McDonald Longerbeam, who survives along with the following children: Hunter Randolph Longerbeam, Jr., Mrs. C. E. (Carolyn) Singhas, Mrs. Robert (Sally) Lloyd, and Miss Agnes Marie Longerbeam, all of Berryville, Miss Marie Longerbeam, Miss Iva Longerbeam and Miss Janie Longerbeam, all at home; one brother, Mason Longerbeam of Berryville; two sisters, Mrs. Grace L Rosenberry of Berryville and Mrs. Mattie L Stump of Charles Town, W. VA.; and five grandsons.

A funeral service was conducted Tuesday at 2 o'clock in the chapel of the John H Enders Funeral Home, Berryville, by the Rev. Darryl Maxwell. Interment was in the Green Hill Cemetery, Berryville.

Active pallbearers were Walter Barr, Don Dodson, Phillip Kirk, Ezra Deavers, Gilbert Fincham and John (Bus) Racer. Honorary pallbearers were Ginger Logan, Julian Berlin, Earl B Byrd, Richard E Byrd, Eddie Joyce, Eustace Jackson, Dr. Thomas C Iden, Fred Jones and Bev Whiting.
