Comments: In Janary 1897 - John's uncle Cornelius Wade Williams sent John a letter detailing some of the family genealogy dating back to the revolutionary war. This 7 page Scanned Letter (in PDF format) was discovered by Paul Edelen and family and has been presented here with trascribed yellow overlayed text.
On August 28, 1904, John Castree Williams, was the deputy collections officer for the US Customs Office in New York City. His name was noted in an article in the New York Tribune about a visit by the Archbishop of Canterbury. John was in charge of escorting VIP's through the US Customs process.
