Comments: The 1880 Census shows Maggie as 5 years old and living with her father Joseph H Stickles (Line 20) and her mother Maria (line 21) along with her three siblings: Mary E. (12 yrs), Henry (8 yrs) and Florence ( 2 yrs). Joseph's occupation is a farmer. They are living in Battletown District (Berryville), Clark County, Virginia
The 1910 Federal Census list Maggie Stickles living in Battletown Dist, (Berryville), Clark Co., Virginia. She is 34 years old, single with four children: Joseph (7 yrs), Burnice (5 yrs), Mary (3 yrs), and Leonard (1+ yrs). Margaret is working as a launderer working from home.
The 1920 Federal Census list Maggie as living in Mount Gilead District, Loudoun Co., VA. and there were three children living in the home: Leonard, Mary and Alice.
Maggie's funeral was provided by the Enders Funeral Home in Berryville, Virginina. Their records indicate that Maggie died at the Russll Cochran Farm, near Round Hill, VA. The funeral arrangements were made by a Mary Stipes and paid by a Bernice Smith. The records also show that the husband was unknown.
The obituary listed in the Loudoun Times Mirror for Thursday, March 26, 1936 indicated that she was living in Round Hill at the time of her death. She was survived by four daughters: Mrs. Kennard Smith of Baltimore, Mrs. Will Stipes and Mrs. W. O. Kregbaum of Clarendon, VA and Mrs. Russell Ballenger of Middleburg, Virginia. She was also survived by five sons: Elmer and Willard of Washington, DC, Edward of New Jersey, Joe of West Virginia and Leonard of Leesburg, Virginia.
