Comments: Leonard's marriage license shows his mother as Margaret A. Boyd but his father is listed as Joseph Stickels. The mother may have been married to a Boyd and it is believed that he listed his grandfather as his father since his real father may have been unknown. The marriage license also shows Leonard and his wife are living in Leesburg at the time of the marriage. Leonard name is also spelled "Stickels"
The 1930 Census shows Leonard and Pauline living in Leesburg, VA and they are living with Pauline's parents. Pauline was living in the home with 5 of Pauline's siblings. Leonard's father-in-law was a farm manager and Leonard is working as a farm laborer. Leonard's age in the census is 20 years but the age on the marrriage certificate is shown as 22 years. The census was taken just 4 months after his marriage.
An obituary from the Loudoun Time-Mirror dated May 3, 1993 indicated George was a farm caretaker, he was a member of the Leesburg Baptist Church and the Loudoun Odd Fellows.
