The following obit for Emma appeared in the September 9, 1971 Journal:

Mrs. Emma Locke Broy died in a Maryland Hospital Thursday, August 26. She had been in declining health for the past year. Mrs. Broy was the widow of the late Ernest Broy and daughter of the late John William and Emma Susan Locke of Clarke County, VA. She was born December 27, 1888. A former resident of Jefferson County, she had resided in the Washington D.C. area for the past 25 years.

Surviving are two daughters: Mrs. Irene George of Hillcrest Heights, MD, Mrs. Nellie Styles of Burnsville, N.C. and one son William Glen Broy of Baltimore, MD; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Broy were held Monday, August 30, 11:30 AM at the Robert Wilhelm Funeral Home at Suitland MA. Burial was in the Green Hill Cemetery at Berryville, VA.
Residence History: Jefferson Co, Virginia to Washington, DC for the last 25 years of her life.
