 EDWARD LIPPETT LOCKE (1880-1961)
The following obit appeared in the November 29, 1961 Winchester Star:

Edward Lippett Locke, 81, of Boyce, died yesterday in Winchester Memorial Hospital. He was born in Clarke County, a son of the late Howard and Matilda Mercer Locke. His wife, the former Miss Lucy Bell Locke, preceded him in death.

Survivors include seven children, Mrs. Lena Carroll, Mrs. Matilda Henson, Mrs. Dorothy Thomas, and Howard Locke of Boyce, Mrs Ruby Johnson of Middleburg, Mrs. Elizabeth Strother of Berryville and Nelson Locke of Round Hill, 35 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.

The funeral service will be Thursday at 3 PM at the John H Enders Funeral Home in Berryville by the Rev. Linwood Daniel of Edinburgh. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call at the Enders Funeral Home.
