May have died in Chesterfield Co., Virginia [Edith Rider]
Obituary from Unknown Source - William F. Hill, of 2608 Wise Street, died today at his home. The funeral services will be held at 3:30 PM Sunday from Morrissett's Funeral Home, with interment in Riverview Cemetery. Mr. Hill was a son of the late W. A. Hill and Mrs. Mary S. Hill. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Alice Vaughan Hill; four sisters, Ms. Eva J. Nichols, of New Auburn, Wis., Mrs. R. L. Stickel, of Winchester, Va., and Mrs Edith Hatchell and Mrs. J. J. Grady, of Richmond; and a brother, V. J. Hill of Carnell, Wis.; also by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral conducted by Morrisett Funeral Home. Address at death was 2608 Wise Street (Obituary). He was 66 years old at time of death (funeral home records)
01-05-97 Located gravesite and photographed. Tombstone is in need of maintenance. Bottom has sunk and was covered in dirt. Funeral arrangements were made by his wife, Alice Vaughan Hill at which time she prepaid for her own funeral according to Riverview Cemetery records. There is no headstone for her however. [Edith Rider]
01-05-97. According to Elva Spiaggi (niece), he inherited all of the hill property and money. At his death, it all transferred to his wife. At her death, an unknown couple inherited all of the property and money. This couple appears to have ingrained themselves in the lives of William and Alice. Earl Hatchell attempted unsuccessfully to have the will overturned. Elva remembers Aunt Grace Grady being really angry about the situation.
02-14-98. Will owned a gas station (I have photo of him at his station) in Richmond which was located at the foot of the 14th Street Bridge (Now called the Mayo Bridge) leading into Richmond on Hull Street. The gas station was no longer standing when we (Mom and Edie) visited the site [from Elva Spiaggi]
