Obituary

Catherine G. Goodman, 93, of Sykesville, died Tuesday, Oct. 7, 1997, at Westminster Nursing and Convalescent Center. 

Born Nov. 17, 1903, in Virginia, she was the daughter of the late James and Hattie Tomlin Childs. She was the wife of the late Chauncey P. Goodman.  She had been a machinist with Mt. Vernon Cotton Mills and a supply clerk at Greater Baltimore Medical Center. 

She is survived by sons James Perry Goodman of Baltimore and Kenneth Chauncey Goodman of Finksburg; daughters Beverly Jean Harris of Towson, Catherine Maybelle Baxter of Massachusetts and Louise Aversa of Rosedale; sisters Mary Schildt and Virginia Heathcoat, both of Baltimore; 19 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, Md. 32, near Sykesville, with the Rev. Jeff Odom officiating. Interment will be in Meadowridge Memorial Park, Elkridge. 

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
