Health History: Very athletic while going to school at the Naval Academy. Full back on the Navy football team, also played Lacross. Suffered from high blood pressure later in life and died of lung cancer. He was a heavy smoker all of his life

Jack went to a prep school before his admittance to the Naval Academy. Once he became a midshipmen at the academy he was very successful in athletics. Jack played on the varsity Lacrosse and Football teams. On the football team Jack played full back and half back and had many illustrious plays that amazed the journalists covering the events. During his years on the team the players had helmets but no face guards and Jack claimed to be the only man on the squad that graduated with all his teeth.

During WW II, Jack was the first supply officer of the USS Wisconsin Battleship and served on the ship from 1944 to 1946 with the rank of Commander. The ship left the Philadelphia shipyard in December 1943 for trials, returned to Philadelphia and was commissioned on April 16, 1944. 

  During the period Jack served duty on the Wisconsin, the ship saw heavy action in the Pacific campaign. The ship earned a total of 5 battle stars. In 1945, the Wisconsin performed escord duty to carriers, supporting landing operations at Iwo Jima, and won two battle stars at the battles of Iwo Jima, and Okinawa. The Wisconsin served most recently in the Persian Gulf during the Kuwait conflict.  It is an Iowa class ship of which 4 were built.  The Iowa (BB-61), New Jersey (BB-62), Missouri (BB-63), and the Wisconsin (BB-64).  The USS Wisconsin is on display at the Nauticus Museum in Norfolk, Virginia.
Residence History: Grew up on Philladephia, PA and after joining the Navy he was stationed all over the world. Guam, Italy, California, etc.
