Nicole's first school was the
Maharishi School of the Age of Enlightenment in Silver Spring, Maryland.
This school is no longer in operation but it is very similar to the school
of the same name in Fairfield, Iowa (see link above). Nicole complete her
first and second grades and made many friends in the Washington DC, TM
(
Transcendental Meditation) Community.
Nicole then went to
Travilah Elementary School in North Potomac, Maryland. Nicole was a very
good student during these years and lived within walking distance to this school.
During Nicole's middle school years (6th to 8th grade) she attended
Robert Frost Middle School.
Nicole's mother and step father moved to Germantown, Maryland during
Nicole's first years in High School. She attended
Northwest High School and was involved
with the Track Team and Cross Country teams. Nicole attended this
school during her Freshman and Sophomore years.
Nicole's mother moved to Bethesda, Maryland and for more then a year
she attended
Walter Johnson High School where she lettered in Cross Country. She
completed her junior year but in her senior year she was having
emotional difficulties and tried switching to another high school.
Her difficulties became severe and she made a few attempts at suicide.
She was then committed to a psychiatric hospital and school where
she stayed until her release on her 18th birthday.
After her release from the hospital she returned
to alternately live with her mother and her father. Within a year
she took her high school equivalency
exam and successfully completed the test without any study.
In the years before her death, Nicole attended classes at
Montgomery County Community College
in Rockville, Maryland and
Indian Hills Community College in Fairfield, Iowa.
