Obituary

Mrs. Juanita Virginia "Nita" Tapscott Fairchild, age 85, of Coffey Avenue, North Wilkesboro died Thursday, June 11, 2009 at Wilkes Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held Sunday 2:00 PM, June 14, 2009 at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with Rev. Jim Gore officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 7 until 8:30 at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.

Mrs. Fairchild was born October 29, 1923 in Fauquier County, VA to Robert Clay and Violet Christabelle Amiss Tapscott. She was a member of Hinshaw Street Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by: a sister, Edythe M. Tapscott Crowe and a brother, Robert Howard Tapscott.

She is survived by: Her husband of 66 years, Ercell W. Fairchild of the home; two daughters, Christine V. Fairchild of North Wilkesboro, Joyce L. Fairchild of San Jose, CA; two sons, Brett D. Fairchild and wife, Brenda of Leesburg, VA, Thomas W. Fairchild and wife, Rebecca of Hollister, CA; seven grandchildren, Brennan E. Fairchild of Madison, IN, Debbie M. Boese Parker of Bend, OR, Lea D. Fairchild Janukowski of Tulsa, OK, Barbara J. Boese Dunn of Benn, OR, Joel T. Fairchild of Myrtle Beach, SC, Blaine W. Fairchild of Berryville, VA, Blake H. Fairchild of Front Royal, VA and 19 great-grandchildren. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Hinshaw Street Baptist Church Building Fund, P O Box 396, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659.
