Obituary
Lionel Edward Stickles, Jr., of Gamber, MD, died June 23, 2011, after a long battle with cancer. He was the husband of Belle Owings Stickles, his wife of 60 years.
Born September 15, 1929, in Texas, MD, he was the son of the late Lionel E. Stickles, Sr. and Susie Chappell Stickles.
Mr. Stickles was retired from A.G. Parrott Construction Co. where he worked for more than 30 years.
He was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church, the auxiliary to the Gamber Fire Company, and the Westminster Moose Lodge No. 1381.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Carl Brian of Westminster, MD; son and daughter-in-law, Lionel, III and Joan Stickles of Gamber; daughter and son-in-law, Joanne and Donald Roth of Westminster; daughter and son-in-law, Larie and Chuck Taylor of Westminster; grandchildren, Larry Brian, Jessica Wilson, Stephanie Duncan, Bradley Stickles, Rebecca Roth, Andrew Stickles, and Allie and Bryan Beatty; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Elaine Leese, Jennie Markle, and Anna May Schaffer; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Alene Stickles, Pat and Nancy Stickles, and John and Ellen Stickles, all of Carroll County; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by son, James Stickles, and brother, Dean Stickles.
Funeral services will be held June 28, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Fletcher Funeral Home, Westminster, with Rev. Doug Hoffman officiating. Interment will be held at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Finksburg.
