Comments: Age 25 - Vernon Wilson located a Immigration record for a Philip Jacob Stockel on Ancestry.COM dated, Sept. 19, 1765 . Ship Betsey, John Osman , Commander, from Rotterdam, last from Cowes - This may be the link to Dutch/Germany we are looking for, more information regarding Philip and his family in Europe would be much appreciated
It has been supposed by Donald Watts, that George and his brother may have been German immigrants who did not speak English at the time of their marriage. But 7 years later when George's brother Henry got married, Henry signed his daughter's marriage license. George also seems to have entered several documents with the courts later in his life.
Age 70 - The 1810 Census for Augusta Co., Virginia that shows a Jacob Stickle living with 3 possible daughters and 2 sons
Lowell Thomas makes reference to Jacab Stickle - Mac/McPherson of PA - Lowell Thomas
