Obituary

Gloria Velinder Stickel Virts, 80, of Winchester, Virginia, died Sunday, April 9, 2017 in the Winchester Medical Center.

Ms. Virts was born July 20, 1936 in Clarke County, Virginia, daughter of the late Henry William Stickel and Fannie Elizabeth Wilson Stickel.

She retired from Doubleday.

She was a member of Greenway Spirit and Word Fellowship where she was a member of the WMU.

Surviving are a son, Dennis Lee Virts and his wife, Louella, of Winchester, VA; two brothers, John Henry Stickel of Millwood, VA and Thomas Carroll Stickel of Boyce, VA; and seven grandchildren, Dennis Virts, Jr., John W. Virts, Daniel A. Virts, Thomas E. Virts, Kathleen E. Virts, Kaylin E. Virts, and Lisa Chrystal and ten great-grandchildren, Coy Langley, Kayleigh Langley, Kirra Virts, Bradley Hull, Lilly Ballenger-coca, Emma Chrystal, Brantley Chrystal, Cora Chrystal, Maya Chrystal, and Jeremiah Virts.

Her sister, Phyllis A. Noakes, and a granddaughter, Tracey Kelley, preceded her in death.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 A. M. Friday, April 14, 2017 at Enders & Shirley Funeral Home Chapel, Berryville, VA with Pastor Robert K. Vineyard and R. K. Shirley III officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Berryville.

Pallbearers will be Dennis Virts, Jr., John W. Virts, Daniel A. Virts, Thomas E. Virts, John H. Stickel, Jr., and Allen Fletcher. Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin Combs, Danny Franklin, and Barry Tipton.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 – 9:00 P. M. Thursday evening at the funeral home.

	Residence History: Gloria grew up in Clarke County, Virginia and married in Frederick, Maryland. Moved to Loudoun County to Hamilton then to Hillsboro then back to Clarke County. In retirement she lived in Frederick County, Virginia, where she succeeded in spending her "end of days"
