Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, at St. John's United Methodist Church in Greensboro, with Reverend Neal Brower and Reverend Jack Kayler officiating. Burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park.
Eutha was the youngest of three girls born to Louis J. Marck and Estella Stiekles Marek in Baltimore, Maryland. She retired from the former Greensboro Public Schools in 1991 after 30 years of teaching children the love of reading. Eutha studied at Peabody Conservatory of Music - John's Hopkins University, Baltimore, Md., where she received a full competitive scholarship and graduated with a Bachelor of Music Degree. Her love of music led her to sing in or accompany many church, school and community choirs; play in or accompany a number of orchestras and bands; be first oboist in the Gettysburg Symphony Orchestra; and help in the early development of the Eastern Music Festival, Greensboro, N.C.
After retiring, she and husband, Carl moved to Palm Coast, Florida. There she was Director of Music for Palm Coast UMC and Director of Ecumenical Choirs, Flagler County, Fla. After Carl's death, she returned to Greensboro and recently retired as part-time Ministry Coordinator/Administrative Assistant and pianist at St. John's UMC. Her love for God and her church affected numerous lives and her earthly presence will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
