ALVIN FRANCIS GRUBBS (1911-1994)

The following obit for Alvin appeared in the February 23, 1994 Courier:

Alvin Francis Grubbs, 82, of 211 Willow Lane, Berryville, died on Monday at his residence. Mr. Grubbs was born October 26, 1999 in Rippon, W. VA., son of the late Clarence Kenny and Grace Hummer Grubbs. He was retired as a clerk for Coiner's Hardware, Berryville. He was a lifetime member of the American Motorcycling Association. On December 26, 1935, he married Dorothy Broy in Charles Town, W. Va.

Surviving with his wife are a daughter, Shelby G Grubbs of Berryville four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Graveside rites were held on Tuesday at Green Hill Cemetery, Berryville. The Rev. Tom Biggs officiated. Memorials may be made to John H Enders Fire Company and Rescue Squad, 9 S. Buckmarsh St., Berryville 22611. Arrangements were handled by the Enders Funeral Home in Berryville.
