Irving National Bank - is a representative bank from the lower west side of NY. It was organized as a state bank in 1851. It was orginally established on 229 Greenwich Street. Edgar H. Laing was the first president of the bank but later John Castree became its president. In 1865 it accepted a National Bank Charter. The total resources of the bank exceeded 5 Million. It largely serviced commercial accounts.
The Irving Savings Institution - was formed in 1851. The bank's address is 96 Warren St, NY City. This bank had total deposits of 6.5 Million dollars. The first presidents of this bank was Caleb S. Woodhul and John Castree. Both banks existed at the corner of Warren and Greenwich Street in NY City.
