Charlotte Shane Stickel, daughter of William Shane Beardsley and Charlotte Ellen Manning Beardsley was born January 3, 1922 in Birmingham, Iowa and passed from this life Saturday, April 28, 2012 at Ramsey Village in Des Moines, Iowa at 90 years of age.
Charlotte received her education in New Virginia graduating from the New Virginia High School in 1939. She also attended the University of Iowa.
She was united in marriage to Doyle Eugene Stickel on September 2, 1941 at Albany, Missouri and two sons blessed this union.
Charlotte was a homemaker and also worked as the school secretary and school board secretary for Interstate 35 Community Schools. She retired in 1987 after 26 years of service. Charlotte was a member of Neophyte Chapter #206 O.E.S. in New Virginia and also the New Virginia United Methodist Church.
Those relatives who preceded Charlotte in death were her parents; husband, Doyle Eugene Stickel; daughter-in-law, Katie Stickel; son, Tom Stickel; brothers, Blaine Beardsley and Billy Beardsley.
Charlotte leaves to cherish her memory; son, John Stickel and his wife Ginny of Des Moines; granddaughter, Crystal Mace of Case Grande, AZ; great grandchildren, Brittany Mace of Des Moines and Greg Mace Jr. Also surviving are her sister, Mary Scheig and her husband Henry of Mequan, WI; brother, Dan Beardsley and his wife Patricia of Springfield, VA; sister-in-law, Ruth Kinsey of Clarinda; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
